“Miesha Tate 2.0” is a long-form documentary detailing the rise, retirement, and comeback of female MMA pioneer Miesha Tate, who I spent the better part of a year filming with in the lead up to her comeback. For this piece, I wanted to amplify certain moments with commercial music, using “Better” by Khalid for a scene at home with Miesha’s growing family, and an original acoustic score of her famous walkout song, “Roar” by Katy Perry.
